Brilliant piece. Absolutely. But is remembering enough?
Our community must actively rebel. To fight back in the public square. But is the Jewish community up to this? It appears we are passively sitting by as antisemitism sweeps the West.
We fight behind the scenes, of course, in Congressional cloakrooms, in seminars and conferences, in opinion columns. And a bit on social media.
But we have really forsaken the public square to the extreme Left and Right. Our leaders appear paralyzed, or in the instance of Hillel International, to even collaborate with our enemies.
There are no public demonstrations, there is no active public actions with our Christian friends who support Israel.
Memoricide. When someone says “never again” to a Jewish person and they reply, “never again what?”
Yes. A prerequisite for our survival. As you note, the antisemites understand this.
Again, brilliant. And I agree. Without memory there is nothing. Antisemites understand this. But will memory be enough? Or will it be all we have?
It is definitely not enough, but it is a prerequisite.

Memory is vital. But today, is it enough?
It's an excellent point, and I'm very much in support of active resistance, but I don't think resistance is possible without memory.
